A few days ago I was invited to a live by one of the artists connected to my work, and so I ended up going to see it at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel.
And after the live I went backstage, met with everybody, and ended up slightly mentally strained (laughs)
Then when I was exchanging light greetings with some of the other composers and lyricists who had come, it became a "since I didn't really know any of my other fellow artists, it must have been fate or something that we met here and why don't we go out to tea for half an hour or so?" thing. So three of us ended up going for tea, and caught up in a fair uprush about inner circle information and our work together, we ended up talking for more like 4 hours (laughs)
That I, who can't easily open up to people, was able to talk to them for 4 hours the first time we met this is something of great wonderment!
We talked about a lot of things and I had fun.

So we talked about this, and that, and then it turned out that I'll be contributing 4 songs for a new all girl's group (unit?).
And on top of that, it seems that the trend has gone so that before the members do the recording, a provisional professional singer will come in and that the group will be doing their recording under that person's consultation.
I asked about that vocalist, since the person would be included in the 4 songs I had written, and it turns out this this person has done the songs for certain commercials that I'm sure everybody's heard at least once no matter who you are.
And while I was thinking, "Oh, I've heard this voice somewhere before",
I instantaniously thought "Oh, this sounds nothing like the things I've sung...."
And then I realized how much I suck at singing (wry smile)
In the case of songs for female artists, I have a female vocalist sing for me, but when they're songs for male artists, I basically sing them myself, I being me.
And, I'm pretty bad at doing my own songs....(laughs)
Every time I've sung something, afterwards I think, "Woah....this would be better with just a synthesizer melody.....?" and get depressed.
It's hard to sing my songs. (And if you ask if I could do someone else's songs better, that would turn out kinda funky too....)

And with that, I'm thinking I might start production of my own album here and there.

Merusedesu!!

5.31. Hora

First off I don't think his....what he does...rapping, .is bad. It's not really pro-singing though, is it. It's unique, non?
My friend tried to do it, and although he is usually quite good at singing, that was bimyou~

Well, a quick search revealed that the event Hora is referring to was not open to the public,
and so I'm guessing it was some sort of debut for the singer, or the release of a new song.

And
at first I thought "Mercedes," is probably a reference to the car,
and so for now I'm going to guess that the professional singer he's talking about did the songs for the commercials.
Or maybe he likes Mercedes....or maybe he has one... .................*heh heh heh*

BUT it could also mean, in Japanese, "I'm Meruse"...
Who is this guy...

I like Hora's singing better.

And I guess "meruse" sounds a little like "merci" too.....(laughs)
The problem is, when he does stuff like this, it could mean anything (>_<)
But then, I learn things from it unintentionally, so it's all good.
